Dallas Community Youth Development (CYD)

Services: Community Youth Development program designed to alleviate family and community conditions that lead to juvenile crime, through prevention programming. Located in zip codes 75216 and 75217. The programs are collaborations of “grassroots” community-based resources committed to supporting positive character development, self-esteem, and pride for its young people. Program services for youth include: After-school/non-school hour programs, interactive multimedia instruction, truancy reduction, sports, and arts. Youth Advisory Committee (YAC): Provides a young person’s perspective to the Community Collaborative Committee in the areas of leadership development and community involvement. Also, the committee collaborates with adults in the planning, funding, promotion, and evaluation of CYD services. Must reside or attend school in zip codes 75216 and 75217.
