NAMI (NATIONAL ALLIANCE ON MENTAL ILL) DALLAS

Misson: NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI advocates for access to services, treatment, supports and research and is steadfast in its commitment to raise awareness and build a community for hope for all of those in need.


How to Apply: Call, write, or walk-in

Support: Memberships, grants and donations

Services: Voluntary self-help addressing the needs of the mentally ill (brain disorders) and their families and friends. Free family to family education and support groups, and advocacy for increased and improved services for persons with mental illness. Free Vision for Tomorrow educational classes and support groups for parents and caregivers of children and/or
adolescents with brain disorders. Speakers bureau. Monthly newsletter. Monthly general and education meeting held at Lake Highlands Presbyterian Church (8525 Audelia Rd) on the first Thursday of the month at 7:00pm.
