Effective Event planning is one of our successful methods of community change. Vast affiliations make introductions to community resource providers beneficial . David Lane - Board Member

Dr. David L. Lane of Dallas, Texas was chosen as 2015’s best national representative of “Deep Preaching” by Sermon Central Preaching Resources. He is the first African American minister of any church fellowship or denomination to be recognized in that category and the only minister among Churches of Christ.

He is C.E.O. of Ja-Kem Consorts and Leadership Institute both located in Dallas, Texas. He became world renown as a pioneer in Therapeutic Preaching during the nineties. Dr. Lane’s book, Looking Up Without Giving Up, is an updated textbook of therapeutic preaching. He is also the author of Low Motives in High Places and All Stressed Up and No Place to Go. Both are available at Barnes and Noble Bookstore and Amazon.com. Because of his artistic and oratorical skills, he is affectionately called “The Golden Voice of the Southwest.” His work published as a textbook and used in colleges and seminaries is titled, Powerful Preaching to People With Problems.

Alan E. Sims - Board Member

BIO

Alan recently retired from the city management profession after 33 years, 15 of which were spent serving as the City Manager of Cedar Hill, TX. Prior to that, from 1986-2000, he held various city management positions, including Deputy City Manager with the City of Overland Park, KS (suburb of Kansas City). He received both his bachelor and master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Kansas, earning the latter in May 1988.

He currently serves on the University of Kansas College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) Advisory Board as well as the Board of Trustees of Trinity Church and Christian School. He was also appointed by the Supreme Court of Texas (May 2018) and currently serves as a Public Member of the State Bar of Texas. In the past, Alan has served on the Board of Directors of the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA), Cedar Hill Chamber of Commerce, Regional Director for the Texas City Management Association (TCMA), President of the North Texas City Management Association (NTCMA), and President of the Kansas University City Managers and Trainees (KUCIMATS).

At the conclusion of his service as City Manager, the Cedar Hill City Council bestowed the honor of renaming its recreation center the “Alan E. Sims” Recreation Center. Both TCMA and the KUCIMATS presented Alan with their prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Awards.” Additionally, Northwood University conveyed an Honorary Doctorate degree upon Alan in 2008.

Alan’s passion for public service and love for Cedar Hill led him to run for City Council. He was elected in May 2019 and currently serves on the Cedar Hill City Council.

Alan has been married to his “girlfriend” Gayle for 47 years and they have 4 adult children and 8 grandchildren.

Kimberely Sanders - Board Member

Dr. Kimberely Sanders is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of SisterZ with Hope & Faith, Inc. She has over 20 years’ experience in the medical field and over 10 years in the corporate field. Dr. Sanders has spent the last 20 year working with non-profit organizations from volunteering to serving on different committees to chairing the board of directors to starting up non-profit organizations.

Dr. Sanders has worked just as diligently in the field of social justice and reform: researching, attending workshops, and interviewing female inmates and human trafficking victims with the intention of helping people in all walks of life. “The plight of the Sex Trafficked sears my soul, especially because of how our criminal justice system revictimizes them,” because this SisterZ with Hope & Faith was founded.

SisterZ with Hope & Faith creates a support system that aids in the transition to a healthy way of life. Through a specific algorithmic blend of law enforcement, education, outreach vocational training, career placement, psychiatric counseling, and legal services, we can fully restore our clients and drastically reduce recidivism.

Dr. Sanders is the mother of Brianna and Kymani Sanders, without whom, I may not have had the courage to make the world a better place.

Rickey McElroy - Board Member

Pastor Mcelroy is a minister for a Recovery House of Worship located in DeSoto, Texas. He is a board member of Overcomers Outreach Cedar Hill, Tx. The pastor is active in the organizations, Men with a Purpose Community H.E.R.E. He actively is involved in fundraising, feeding and providing coats for the homeless in the Dallas area. In the past he has worked as a life coach, Celebrate Recovery, and on the finance committee for the Community Baptist Church.

Michael Perron - Board Member

As a former addict, now sober 21 years, Michael brings a unique perspective to the process of recovery. Over the past 20 years Michael has dedicated himself to developing comprehensive programs, integrating the clinical and spiritual realms, that aid people in getting back to wholeness.

He is a certified biblical counselor and is currently working with the Health and Human Services Department in Washington, to create a framework that helps faith-based organizations create awareness, remove stigma, and advocate for people in the midst of the chaos surrounding substance misuse/abuse and mental health issues.

He is the Pastor of Life Recovery at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, TX. Michael and his wife Christina have been married for 21 years – they have three children; Grayson, Bella, and Michaela.

Nelly has drawn from her own experience as a single (divorced) mother to build a nonprofit that can truly make a difference for her clients. As the CEO/ Founder of MaaPaa.org she is determined to bridge gaps for mothers who are raising boys without a father.

She has engineered and coordinated through her community partnerships a suite of services that are key to supporting the population she is trying to help. Nelly is working to further enhance available services to include an Academy, a charter school focused on providing educational and social opportunities for children of single parent homes. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Science in Management from The University of Texas at Dallas.

For over thirty years, Pastor Glen Jones has been restoring hope in the lives of God’s people, meeting them wherever they are, through leadership in both traditional and non-traditional avenues – through in-house ministry and evangelical outreach.

In addition to his ambassadorial and diplomatic appointments, Dr. Jones has been actively engaged in the development, implementation and delivery of many church-affiliated ministries and businesses. His pivotal roles within the leadership of mega churches has led him to (simultaneously) direct training for over 200 minister, develop a 24/7 counseling center, and manage over 25 licensed counselors, as well as establish an accredited school of ministry and serve as a moderator over numerous churches. His experiences and accomplishments as an entrepreneur and business leader with over 30 years of  engagement, customer service, community activism, and interaction with high-level dignitaries and executives in the public and private sector have led him to operate in a rare space and partner to deliver highly regarded, global faith-based conferences in partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and U.S. Department of Education.
Dr. Jones’ passions have led to the co-founding of and executive leadership in such organizations as iLead Global, which provides mentoring, coaching and training in leadership and entrepreneurship, and he is the CEO/President of The Muse Consultant Group LLC.  Dr Jones also founded Restoration of Hope World Ministries, a non-profit, evangelical, teaching and preaching ministry that offered faith-based delivery of valuable services for residents in the community, and headed Global Destiny Ministries’ global faith-based initiatives, where he directed the development and support of their ministry leadership teams and professionals as well as pastoral counseling.
Throughout all of his outreach and pastoral ministry, as well as his entrepreneurship and leadership experience, it is clear that Dr. Jones has a vested interest in the lives of the people of God and he recognizes the importance of ministry, leadership, assistantship, and entrepreneurship in fulfilling his call to serve and create great leaders, both in ministry and in the private sector.
